He gained widespread acclaim for his cinematic work on major films including The Journalist (2019), Yakuza and the Family (2021), and the music video for Kenshi Yonezu's hit single "Lemon." In 2019, Imamura expanded his creative scope by making his feature directorial debut with the film Yan.
